T-Mobile USA Waives Call Charges to and From Haiti
Thursday, January 14th, 2010 |Although this was announced a few days ago, I thought I’d post it here anyway. T-Mobile USA announced that any calls to & from Haiti will be free of charge. This is a great gesture by this carrier as communication is one of the most important things in a disaster of this magnitude and users have enough to worry about let alone their wireless bill.
T-Mobile among other carriers did this during Katrina as well and I personally love it when a company provides real help like this rather than just throwing money at the Red Cross and then bragging about it.
Although I most people are aware of this, if you’d like to donate, text the word ‘HAITI’ to 90999 and a $10 donation will appear on your phone bill.
I just read at BoyGeniusReport.com that Verizon Wireless is also providing free calls to and from Haiti and making the credit retroactive to the day of the quake.
Our prayers & thoughts go out to those in Haiti as well as their families and friends.
